This project focuses on “SIMPLESUN”, a sun care brand focused on the basics of skincare and acknowledging the plastic waste problem in the sun care industry.
How might we create an accessible, sustainable, brand that captures the Australian landscape?
Thorough research of packaging design, deconstructing and examining what made a successful design. Interviews with those who use suncare and what they looked for in the products they purchase.
The process
This project was heavily researched, the packaging includes sun care and so care had to be taken around the policies and regulations for products that are heavily regulated.
Each icon on the packages were individually drawn, these icons needed to match the brand's handwritten feeling.
I opted to use handwritten type to make the outcome more personal and quirky, representing the change in nature.
Outcomes
The final brand identity was based off the bright and eyecatching nature of coral.
The patterns represented the uniqueness of nature and the reflection of human skin, being so unpredictable and beautiful.
